Grapes, Candles, & Family
(Note:I recently migrated my blog to the new web address; this is a copy of a 2015 blog)
I have decided that I WILL blog on a regular basis. After all, I have found over the last few years that I enjoy writing. Of course, this came at the experience of term papers, research papers, essays, dissertations, and the ever so tedious capstone. Fear not- you will not be bored with the details of drug court effectiveness. Yes, I majored in Sociology. While I have found great satisfaction in this area of my life and I’m grateful for the opportunity of going to school, I am equally grateful and more excited for Five Fourteen Photography. There is something indescribable about the feeling you get when your client reacts to seeing their photos for the first time. Its like that awesome rush you get from riding a roller coaster; that is, if you like to ride roller coasters. I love roller coasters!!!
This post is called Monday Minute; these posts will primarily be dedicated to personal things that let you know a little bit more about my family and myself. So here it is, the first official Monday Minute post:
Saturday was a big day! It was the bachelorette day for Chelsea, my soon to be sister in law. Her awesome matron of honor planned out a tour of Northeast Georgia wineries, including lunch reservations at Montaluce Winery. Did I mention she did all of this from her home in New York? Take note ladies; that’s a grade A matron of honor! We met downtown Dahlonega on the square; if you’ve never visited, it is a must! Dahlonega is beautiful, full of history, and the home of famous Georgia gold mines. Oh, and there are vineyards too! We visited Wolf Mountain, Montaluce, and Cavender Creek Vinyards. I must say, I am amazed that everything is still so green this late in the year. Leaves are beginning to turn, and many have fallen after our endless rain just days ago; but the grass and the vineyards are still beaming with life. The picture posted above is from Three Sisters Vineyards which neighbors Frogtown; we stopped in but they were both setting up for a beautiful wedding and closed early to the public. We made our way back to the square in time for dinner and I ate the yummiest Crayfish dip and the highly recommended Muffuletta sandwich at Bourbon Street Grille while the other ladies feasted on Oysters and Gumbo. I am so excited about Chelsea officially becoming part of the family! I’m very thankful she included me on her weekend and in her wedding and much more thankful to her friends who welcomed me with open arms. This is a fantabulous group of ladies!
Sunday included church, small group, and a trip to Bath & Body Works for the end of the 2 for $24 candle sale. I’m a self proclaimed scentaholic and I love fall candles, especially when they’re on sale! The trick to shopping BBW is mixing the sale with the coupons. I had a $10 off a $30 purchase email coupon. This is my favorite BBW coupon, you can do multiple $30 transactions and keep using the coupon code! No, I am not a “crazy couponer”. I tried that once, I wasted a lot of time and bought brands I didn’t even like just because they were cheap; its just not my thing. I commend those of you who are committed though!
After a home cooked sit down meal with my handsome hubby and my beautiful daughter, my weekend ended just the way I like it to; curled up on the couch with my family watching one of our favorite shows, Brooklyn Nine-Nine. The emphasis there is on “curled up on the couch with my family”. I’m very thankful for this life.
