Dawsonville Wedding Photographers | COTA Church of the Apostles | Maeve+Jesse
It seems like so long ago that it was summer and I was taking Maeve and Jesse’s engagement photos in the park. Fast forward to February 20th and Maeve’s big day is finally here! We met Maeve in the morning at Casha of Cleveland Hair Studio where her stylist, Jessica did an AMAZING job on her hair and makeup!
From there we headed out to the Church of the Apostles or “COTA” in Dawsonville where we were greeted by Penny, COTA’s Wedding Coordinator. This lady is on top of it! Penny was so welcoming, helpful, and so very attentive to “whatever the bride wants”! If I find myself back at COTA anytime soon, I would be glad about the opportunity to work with Penny again! COTA is a beautiful church tucked away in the woods of North Georgia. Everything from its stunning vaulted wood ceilings, to the stone accent walls, and their trademark three window design makes this photographer very happy!
Maeve’s dress was a gorgeous lace strapless mermaid shaped gown that she and her mother found at a boutique bridal shop in Buford. She wore her “something blue” earrings that Jesse gifted to her to match her beautiful sapphire engagement ring. Her shoes were a classic white lace mary-jane style heel. All of her details went beautifully together. Her bouquet and floral arrangements were all designed special by her aunt who traveled far to be here for her special day (they had some amazing friends that jumped in and helped, too)!
Another detail about this wedding that I loved-Jesse’s handmade button-down shirt. This taupe dress shirt was made special by Maeve’s mother, Carol so that it would match perfectly with their color scheme. The personal touches on a wedding day really make the story come to life!
Maeve and Jesse opted for the First Look-when we take the bride and groom to a private space and we reveal the bride to her groom for the first time (before the ceremony). The first look is an intimate time the couple get to spend together before the business of the wedding begins. As a photographer, I am honored that Rick and I got to stand on the sidelines and witness this very special moment-and capture it in time for them!
There were so many moments during this very special day that I was so thankful to witness and capture. As I sit here and review all of the photos from the day they’ll remember forever, I thank God that my brides trust us to share some of their most precious moments with them.
