Roswell Mill Club Wedding Photographers | Christy + Douglas
As I sit here reminiscing on the most beautiful day this fall wedding season has ever seen, I can’t believe this Roswell Mill Club Wedding has already come and gone! How is it there are only 26 more days left in this year?! I could sware it was just last month I was having fun with the newlyweds at their engagement session – which was in the early spring! One thing I do love about the end of the year is that I get to look back at how faithful God has been and how blessed we all are! Each and every one of my couples are a reminder of just that and Christy and Douglas are perfect examples. They’re so incredibly kind, warm-hearted, fun, full of life, and my favorite – joyful!
Christy and her ladies spent the morning getting pampered by the fabulous Scoobie West & Company at a local AirBnB. I love that Scoobie was also there for Christy’s sister’s wedding in the past. Once the ladies’ looks were complete, our bride-to-be’s mom, Bunny and sister, Katherine helped Christy slip into her gorgeous lace wedding dress. I have to say this wedding dress was made for Christy! She was absolutely breathtaking as a bride and it just melted my heart to see her wedding day look come together!
This gorgeous lush bouquet complete with whites, greenery and a touch of burgundy is by the fabulous Delicate Petal.
When I’m planning the photographic timeline with my brides, this is something I always ask about and I’ve never been turned down… the bridesmaid’s reveal! It’s so much fun to photograph an entire group of ladies celebrating the bride!
As much as I love a bridal reveal, you know my all-time favorite part of the day is when our couples opt for a First Look and this one did not disappoint! Because of the multiple locations, all the possible walking, and not having indoor access to the venue just yet – we made sure to schedule extra portrait time “just in case” (something I always plan for in our timelines). Well, we were ahead of schedule all day which means we got to use every minute of all the extra buffer time! I have so many favorite bride and groom portraits from this day that aren’t even posted here! The joy between these two is contagious and I pray it only grows stronger over the years.
I think it has to be mentioned that Christy and Douglas only ever looked at ONE wedding venue… Roswell Mill Club. She knew without a shadow of a doubt that she wanted to be married at Roswell Mill. Our bride spent much of her childhood growing up here, hiking here, playing in the water, and now both the bride and groom enjoy much of the same things together in this very spot which makes this a perfect place for the two to share their vows and begin the rest of their lives together.
What a fun bunch this was! First, these are by far my most unique groomsmen’s suits I’ve ever photographed and I love them! Then, gorgeous black sequin bridesmaids dresses – yes, please! What a great color combination for a very snazzy looking fall wedding at the mill! Something has to be said when you have an amazing group of friends who are all so easy to direct and photograph. It’s not always easy getting a big group to pay attention but each one was a dream to work with! #blessed
As the sun set just to the left of the ceremony site, Christy and Douglas vowed to give each other their best selves through thick and thin, exchanged wedding bands, put together a ceremonial cross, said “I do” and sealed it with an official kiss. It was a sweet and intimate ceremony surrounded by their loved ones and dearest friends and I was blessed to witness it.
It’s officially party time! I’m pretty sure the part most everyone looks forward to at a wedding celebration is the reception. Who doesn’t love great food, social drinks, and an open dancefloor?! The new Mr. and Mrs. danced the night away as they celebrated with great friends. The dance floor was never empty thanks to the always fun and entertaining DJ’s at SE Events and the back porch was turned into a cigar lounge where much of the men were enjoying highlights of the Georgia game while hanging out. It was an unforgettable evening and the perfect way to kick-off a blessed marriage!
With streamers flying high and cheers at an all-time high, the newlyweds ran through a tunnel of their guests cheering them on as they entered into the rest of their lives together as a married couple! It was a perfect day so suiting for an amazing couple. Christy and Douglas, thank you for allowing us to capture your big day! My prayer for you is that your marriage is built on the solid foundation of Christ, that He answers your wildest prayers, that life takes you places you’ve never imagined, and that you are always full of the same joy you were on this day while being covered in His hedge of protection. Be blessed!
