Chris and Grace’s wedding at Walters Barn in Lula GA was absolutely beautiful. And this couple was just as amazing! Grace is by far one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met. And my opinion doesn’t just come from my interactions with her, but hearing how her family and friends spoke of her during their speeches! She is truly the epitome of her name. Chris is such a good guy for her. He just graduated with his doctorate and they’ve come up from Florida to have their wedding! 

Several awesome things happened with this wedding right off the bat. First, their venue was at Walters Barn in Lula GA, which is a super pretty area with lush greens and even a small lake. I just love getting to shoot weddings here. Secondly, I got to work with my favorite florist Sherri, from Soiree Southern Events. I always have so much fun getting to work with her! So when Chris and Grace came through with both of these things happening in their wedding, I knew that it was going to be an amazing time for the both of them!  

How They Met 

Grace and Chris got to know each other through going to the same college, North Greenville University. While they were there, they sparked a friendship as they were both in leadership positions for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Then, their roommates started dating… Once Chris began getting invited over for their roommate’s weekly Bachelor nights, it was only a matter of time until Chris asked Grace out on a date! 

How Chris Proposed

Their proposal was even more sweet! They went on a vacation to Keystone CO with a couple of their friends. While skiing, Chris kept saying his stomach hurt. So, Chris and Grace went back to where they were staying to rest. Once Chris was ready and “rested” he asked if Grace wanted to go on a hike with him to surprise their friends. Of course, she agreed and not ten minutes into the hike, Chris was down on one knee! Grace was surprised, but of course she said yes!

The wedding day was so joyous, and all their friends and family had come out to help them celebrate. 

They picked all the right time and all the right days, but even still, we caught a light shower in the middle of the bridal party portraits! Luckily, the rain went just as fast as it came. And we were left with a beautiful Georgia day! 

Their ceremony took place under an arch, right in front of the beautiful lake at Walters Barn in Lula GA. It was a super traditional wedding, and the first time Chris saw Grace that day, you could see just how much love he had for her as he watched her walk down the aisle towards him! I absolutely loved getting to see the joy fill their hearts!  

Two Of My Favorite Moments

One of my favorite moments from this wedding would have to be getting photos of Wesson! This gorgeous hound dog was dressed in a sheriff’s vest, complete with a tin star which read – Ring Security.” He was the ring bearer for Chris and Grace’s wedding, and I was all for it! 

The second favorite moment would have to be Grace and Chris’ exit. There was the most confetti from confetti cannons I think I’ve ever seen during a wedding! I think they were just as shocked as I was, and you can see the giant smiles on their faces from all the way across the Walters Barn in Lula GA! 

Grace and Chris, I’m so thankful that you trusted me with your wedding day! It was such a joy to be the person that helped capture the moment as you made memories that you will cherish for the rest of your lives! I pray you both are filled with more love for each other with each day that passes and that God blesses you both with your wildest dreams!
