Rebecca and John: Wedding at The Foundry at Puritan Mill
John and Rebecca are a wonderful couple and I had the chance to photograph their wedding at The Foundry at Puritan Mill. The location is an impressive and dramatic space of pine beams, skylights and concrete floors. And, the event area comes in at a whopping twelve thousand square feet! It was an absolute privilege to help John and Rebecca capture their wedding here!
This couple met as freshmen at Auburn College in the dining hall back in 2013. They stayed friends for several years until they reconnected after Mass at church in Auburn. From there, John asked Rebecca on a date in December of 2016, and they’ve been together ever since!
John told Rebecca that they were going to visit a new park in Dawsonville on a Friday morning. They are both pretty avid hikers so this wasn’t too out of the ordinary, but John never takes off from work without a good reason! So, Rebecca knew that he may have been up to something…. It ended up being cold so they bundled up and drove to Amicalola Falls and they went for a walk down to the falls where there was nobody else around. Then, he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him! Even though she had a feeling it was coming, she still cried because she was so happy.
John had hired a local photographer to capture the whole thing. It was just the two of them out there! They spent the morning at Amicalola Lodge drinking coffee and admiring the scenery. It was the perfect intimate proposal they both wanted. Later on that day, both of their families came from out of town to celebrate with them! Everyone was so excited to start planning their wedding that ended up taking place at the Foundry at Puritan Mill.
It was an amazingly rainy day. But John and Rebecca were such troopers and just happy to be getting married to each other! It was a full wedding with mass at their church, so it was really special! From there we got to capture all their family portraits!
Once everyone was at The Foundry at Puritan Mill the fun started! John and Rebecca’s first dance was awesome! It was a little choreographed, so there were a few moments that got everyone’s attention! From this point, there was a lot of dancing and music and food. The whole night was just a beautiful time!
John and Rebecca, I’m so thankful that you trusted me with your wedding day at The Foundry at Puritan Mill! I’m praying blessings for your marriage and whatever the future holds for you!
Congratulations and thank you, again! Xo, Jess
